Snoring loudly the old dog lies comfy in his bed
Curled up, warm and dreaming
Fat, beagly, brown and white
Feet twitching, nose wriggling
Snuffling sinusly, the old dog sniffs the scented air
Re-living old adventures and grunting
Remembering when limbs ran free
When cataract eyes could see
When deaf ears were hearing
Before obesity was nearing
What joy is spent recalling
When what’s missing was free balling.
Dream on old dog
