Hello my name is Penny I think I have always had poems running through my head, and I decided to write them down into this blog. My poems are usually based on my own personal experiences as I travel through life.

I remember when I learnt to love poetry, it was via a primary school teacher at Dorridge School in the UK. I think the teachers name was Mr Collins and he taught english which was my favourite subject.  He introduced me to the rhythm of poems with readings such as ‘From a Railway Carriage’ by Robert Louis Stevenson’. I love poems that tell a story such as ‘The Highwayman’ by Alfred Noyes and ‘This be the verse’ by Philip Larkin. I enjoy the feel of poetry such as ‘Phenomenal Woman’ by Maya Angelou.

When I was a teenager I wrote letters to my grandmother in poetry, poetry has always been a big part of who I am. I hope you enjoy reading my poems and sharing some of my thoughts and experiences.

worm regards

Penny
